A lot of topics in nutrition science still lack extensive research, leading to confusion and varying opinions. This includes the question of whether it’s bad to eat fruits immediately after a meal or at night.
Eating Fruits Immediately After a Meal: Some experts believe that since fruits digest quickly, eating them immediately after a meal can cause fermentation, leading to bloating and gas. According to Ayurveda, exceptions to this rule are jackfruit, banana, and mango, which can be enjoyed with or after a meal.
Eating Fruits at Night: There are rules suggesting that citrus and sweet fruits should not be mixed. It’s also suggested that fruits should be eaten before sunset, as it is considered bad to eat fruits at night. Given the lack of extensive research and the presence of gray areas, nutritionists often recommend using an elimination theory. This means if something causes harm, it should be eliminated from the diet.
Nature cure practitioners generally prefer eating fruits as the first meal of the day or for breakfast.
Personal Routine: I start my day with a smoothie or a big bowl of fruit, allowing it to digest by noon when I have my early lunch. This is followed by tender coconut water or a KuKClean snack, with dinner around 7-7:30 PM. Following a schedule helps me plan things better.
